Date & Time: August 4 - 8, 2025, 8:30am to 3:00pm

Location: 1900 Eagle Drive, Baltimore, MD 21207

  • If you are driving, Google Maps will sometimes mis-direct drivers to the Franklintown Rd entrance to the park. Please ensure that you are entering Eagle Drive from Windsor Mill Rd. There is a large Outward Bound sign at this entrance. We will ask that you provide a list of adults permitted to pick up your child from Outward Bound - they will be asked to show photo ID.
  • Public Transportation: Baltimore LocalLink Bus 79 stops across the street from the park entrance (Tucker Lane & Windsor Mill Rd.) If your child will be taking taking the bus alone, Outward Bound staff will meet students at the bus stop and escort them to the bus at the end of the day. Outward Bound is not responsible for students before they arrive at the designated bus stop or after they board the bus.

Drop Off & Pick Up: Daily drop off & pick up at the Outward Bound office porch at 8:30am & 3:00pm.

  • We will ask to see photo identification upon pickup to confirmed they are an authorized pickup adult.
  • If your child will take a ride share, please indicate if they will book the ride share themselves or if you will book for them.
  • If your child will be taking the bus with an adult, we will ask that you provide a list of adults permitted to pick up your child from Outward Bound - they will be asked to show photo ID.

Please note: Timely pickup is essential to the smooth operation of our camp. All campers must be picked up promptly at the designated end-of-day time. If you are running late, please contact us as soon as possible to let us know. Repeated late pickups may result in your child being unable to return to camp.

Our Leakin Park Baltimore campus is home to five unique climbing elements and a multi-level aerial teams course in addition to plenty of greenspace and trails to explore.

REQUIRED READING

As agreed to in signup form, each applicant must be able to meet behavior expectations and physical eligibility criteria based on specific program type. Please read the behavior expectations and eligibility criteria here.

No experience necessary! Our camp is designed for beginners and includes appropriate age instruction and support to help campers build confidence. Climbing will be a section of most camp days, about 60-90 min per day. We encourage students to choose their level of challenge with climbing – which could mean climbing just a couple steps off the ground, or climbing all the way to the top. While we will encourage students to challenge themselves, we will never force anyone to climb.

Each day includes a mix of climbing activities, nature hikes, team-building games, and outdoor living skills, all wrapped in a focus on social-emotional learning.

Our staff are trained in challenge course facilitation, first aid and CPR, and youth development. All climbing activities use industry-standard safety equipment and protocols.

Please share all relevant medical information during registration. We work with families to accommodate allergies and health needs as best we can. Please see here for more information.

We intentionally design our activities to promote Belonging, Courage, Physical Engagement, and Reflection through group challenges, journaling, and debriefs.

Camp runs rain or shine! We adjust our activities as needed and have access to shelter for severe weather.
