YOUR LESSONS HERE:

Lots of questions to promote discussion.

New way to get students talking and learning in small groups

Hands-on way to reflect on personal takeaways

ESSENTIAL QUESTIONS:

Essential Questions allow students to keep the main idea in mind. They can provide the motivation to keep asking, learning, and being curious, in pursuit of answers to big questions. Start each lesson in this session referring back to your essential question.

Use one of the following Essential Questions to guide this Session:

  • How do our experiences shape and define us?
  • How did this experience show me who I am and who we are?
  • Where have we come from and where are we going?
FACILITATION TIPS:

The three lessons listed here, Question Bank, Teammates Consult, and Rock, Leaf, Stick, are intended to provide you with a variety of ways to engage your students in discussion.

This session is designed to be flexible to meet a variety of purposes starting with a general debrief of the expedition which can lead to a rich group process and application as you dig into deeper topics. As the facilitator of this group, your role is to take the energy from course in the various ways it has manifested among the group and help to transfer it towards productive self-reflection and action. Listening, restating (but not preaching), and asking big questions will get you far!
